We are honored to share that Benepass has been selected among hundreds of candidates as one of the World Economic Forum’s “Technology Pioneers.” The World Economic Forum's Technology Pioneers are early to growth-stage companies from around the world that are poised to have a significant impact on business and society through their involvement in the design, development, and deployment of new technologies and innovations.

The 100 companies forming this year’s cohort are tackling global issues such as climate change, healthcare, and the future of work. The recipients were selected based on the community’s selection criteria, which include innovation, impact, leadership, and relevance to the World Economic Forum’s Platforms

"We're excited to welcome Benepass to our 2022 cohort of Technology Pioneers," said Saemoon Yoon, Community Lead, Technology Pioneers, World Economic Forum. “Benepass and its fellow pioneers are at the forefront of industries that are critical to solving some of our world's most complex issues today. We look forward to their contribution to the World Economic Forum in its commitment to improving the state of the world."

Our commitment to innovation

With this award, we know we’re in good company. Companies selected in the past include Airbnb, Google, Kickstarter, Mozilla, Spotify, and Twitter. This year’s Tech Pioneers are shaping the future by advancing technologies such as AI, IoT, robotics, blockchain, and biotechnology. For the first time, over one-third of selected companies are women-led, well above the industry average. With startups from 30 countries represented, including Vietnam, Rwanda, and the Czech Republic for the first time, the 2022 cohort forms a truly global community.

Like these companies, we’re committed to finding new ways we can use technology to create a better world. For us, that means using cutting-edge financial technology to help companies take better care of their employees.

Why do we believe this is imperative today? Because COVID-19 fundamentally changed today's workforce, forcing companies to get creative with the way they engage and support their employees. Employees are now seeking organizations with positive cultures focused on great benefits, flexibility, and strong work-life balance.

With our easy-to-use and highly customizable platform, we provide People teams at leading organizations with an easy way to implement, administer, and track the modern benefits that their unique workforce is looking for. We act as a partner in delivering benefits that help teams learn and grow in both their personal and professional lives. With Benepass, companies are seeing employee engagement rates of over 80%. By offering flexible and personalized perks and benefits that employees love at scale, companies can increase employee retention and satisfaction.

We’re excited to continue building partnerships with companies that, like us, want to be at the forefront of the future of work and are dedicated to the employee experience.

Looking ahead

With our selection as a Technology Pioneer, Benepass will be invited to participate in World Economic Forum activities, events, and discussions throughout the year. We’ll also contribute to Forum initiatives over the next two years, working with global leaders to help address key industry and societal issues.

Turning inward, we’ll continue to demonstrate the values that earned us this recognition by enhancing the employee experience of Benepass and equipping People teams with powerful admin capabilities that empower them to build their ideal benefits stack.

We recently updated our employee web app to make it easier to navigate between your perks and pre-tax benefits, see your card details, get an overview of spending, manage your HSA, and get notified of account activity. We also recently launched Reimbursement Payouts, an in-app hub designed to provide more visibility into the status of reimbursements, from when an expense is approved to when the money is sent to an employee’s bank account.

These updates are critical to our goals of making benefits delightful and streamlining benefits administration. But they are only the beginning. We’re excited to keep improving the Benepass experience and helping companies reimagine the way they support their employees in this new world of work we are all navigating together, and hope you’ll join us for the ride.
